David Dominguez was elected to serve on the Business Committee for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians in 2005.  He was re-elected in March of 2009.

Although he was elected to the Business Committee in 2005, he is not a novice in tribal politics.  In the early 90s he was elected to the position of Tribal Chairman and spent nearly a decade leading the tribe.

Over the years, David has also served on the tribe’s Elders Council and has been instrumental in working on tribal cultural projects.

Prior to his involvement in tribal leadership, he worked for the City of Santa Barbara for 40 years and also had a plumbing business and a travel agency.

He brings a treasure chest of tribal leadership experiences to his new role on the tribe’s Business Committee.
