Richard Gomez is serving his seventh consecutive term on the Business Committee for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.  He is currently the Vice Chairman.

He has held positions in tribal government for the past two decades and previously served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman.  Richard also serves on the Education Committee. 

Richard has served as the tribe’s liaison to the state of California in Sacramento and to the federal government in Washington D.C.

He completed many college courses in business management, as well as seminars in tribal government, leadership and gaming regulations. 

An experienced alarm technician, Richard is the recipient of several award certificates in Radionics Equipment.  He was employed by Sylvester Security Alarms since 1980 and recently retired.
