Gary Pace was first elected to serve on the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash
Indians Business Committee in 2004. He was re-elected in the general
election of 2007.
Gary grew up on the Santa Ynez Reservation and attended local schools. As
a skilled welder, he worked in Santa Ynez for many years until recently
retiring from the welding business. He continues to work on special
welding projects creating unique signs and art for family and friends.
Gary comes from a family of tribal leaders. His parents served
on the tribal leadership team for many years and his two sisters have
been involved on various tribal committees.
As the father of four, Gary works hard to instill a sense of cultural
pride in his children. He and his wife, a fellow tribal member,
also have two grandchildren.
